Celebrating the unique and special nature of Highland culture, hundreds of events and activities took place in 2007 throughout the villages, towns and cities of the Highlands and Islands. Although the main events have obviously passed, the website still has links to some unusual places to visit in the Highlands. |
Bogbain Adventure and Heritage Park If you've had a long journey to reach Inverness or you're planning on a long drive once you get here, why not let the children have a run around first? Bogbain farm is a lovely place to stop by and is just 10 mins from Highland Campervans, next to the A9. It has a delightful cafe with excellent food, stocks a range of organic and locally produced food in the farm shop and has a great play area outside and under a covered barn to give the wee ones a leg stretch. Highly recommended. |

Another excellent park for families to visit as a treat at the end of a holiday. Whether the big kids are actually mum and dad, there's sure to be activities here that everyone in the family will enjoy. Again, it's just half an hour south of Highland Campervans, so is an ideal place to spend the final day of a family holiday before returning the campervan. |
Just south of Inverness is the massive Cairngorm National Park. Why not spend some time visiting this amazing area as well as the West Coast? The mountain offers experiences for all ages and abilities. There are plenty of campsites in the area with beautiful walks to stretch your legs. There is also the Mountain Railway which is well worth the money as the views from the top are spectacular on a clear day and the 'Living Mountain' exhibition will keep you interested whatever the weather outside. |

Home to the Queen Mother for almost half a century, the Castle of Mey definitely deserves a visit if heading North in a campervan. Located between John O'Groats and Thurso, the castle remains very similar to how the Queen Mother had it. It also has beautiful gardens, an animal centre, gift shop and tea-room and has been highly recommended by other Highland Campervan customers. |
