Don't ignore that leak

Recently our Workshop reported a leak in a panel van roof caused by insufficient sealing around a bathroom vent during an Annual Habitation Check.
The customer asked us to investigate further. That investigation and the subsequent work we carried out on their behalf is a cautionary tale for any of us that have ever ignored something similar because it was just a little leak. Water had been tracking along behind the roof lining and had soaked everything from the insulation to the wooden frame work and paneling.
With just a little tug the roof came away.

What followed was a stripping out of wet & rotten material.
It took a whole week in the tent with dehumidifiers to dry it out.
After that Jake was able to rebuild it.

The customer was delighted with the end result and a tired but happy Jake moved on to his next job, a rather damp caravan.
So the next time you see a small drip or water mark don't think, it'll be ok because it's just a little leak, because often a little leak can lead to a big job.
