Originally opened in May 2021 by The Findhorn Village Conservation Company (TFVCC), the facility was designed to accommodate up to 21 motorhomes, providing a convenient and well-managed base for visitors to the area. Since its launch, the site has proven to be a success, with planning officials confirming there have been no issues or complaints over the past five years.
The newly approved extension means visitors can now enjoy a longer, more relaxed stay at the scenic coastal location, with overnight fees remaining at £17. This includes access to essential services such as freshwater refills and waste disposal - making it an attractive and practical stop for those touring in campervans and motorhomes.
According to the planning report, the decision is expected to enhance the local tourism offering and encourage increased spending within Findhorn and the surrounding area. By allowing longer stays, the move may also help reduce informal or overnight parking on nearby public roads, ensuring visitors use designated and properly equipped facilities.
The report also highlighted that the site continues to be well maintained, with appropriate amenities in place and effective management since its introduction.
Importantly, no objections were raised by consultees or members of the public regarding the extended stay period - reflecting strong local support for the facility.
Visitors should note that site rules remain in place, including a 48-hour gap required before returning after a stay. The site is also strictly for motorhomes and campervans, with caravans, tents, and awnings not permitted.
